Microsoft 365 Secure Score is a security analytics tool provided within the Microsoft 365 platform. It measures and evaluates the security posture of an organisation’s Microsoft 365 environment by assessing its use of security features and best practices. The score helps administrators understand how well the organisation is protected against potential security threats and provides recommendations for improvement.

Assess the state of your security posture across identity, devices, information, apps, and infrastructure. Benchmark your organization’s status over time and compare it to other organizations.

Most clients will by default have with a secure score around 25 to 50%. We start by remediating the highest-value recommendations as an initial remediation project, to bring your score as high as possible without introducing any significant changes or impediments to your day to day use of Microsoft 365. This typically represents email and calendars, and in some cases OneDrive/Sharepoint for file sharing and/or Microsoft Teams.
We then review any remaining improvement actions which may result in changes to your workflow and will discuss these with you, to evaluate the net benefit versus any possible inconvenience or inefficiency it may cause.
As Cyber Security is a permanently moving target and best practices change all the time to respond to new threats, we offer a support package add-on to actively check and maintain your Microsoft 365 Secure Score every quarter, with a full report provided for your records. This report is particularly useful if you ever needed to demonstrate due process and competence in protecting yourself from cyber threats. The necessity for a quarterly review is that previously-implemented recommendations can gradually regress over time for any number of reasons, and new recommendations may also be introduced to keep up with active threats.
