Apple Mail not receiving with Office 365 / Exchange Online (2017 July August)

It has come to our attention that a number of clients are having issues receiving email via Apple Mail when using Office 365 / Exchange Online as their email provider.

It is currently unclear if this is the result of an intentional security or other upgrade on Microsoft’s side, or an inadvertent fault to the Exchange Web Services (EWS) functionality of Exchange Online.

Clients running Yosemite (Mac OS X 10.10) and El Capitan (Mac OS X 10.11) need to update to macOS Sierra (10.12) in order to fix the fault.

This comes with its own (usually minor / rare) risks so we advise you to ensure you have a full backup of your computer with Time Machine before proceeding with this update.
